Interviewing plays an integral role in the process of candidate selection. Finding the right person to fill a given position at an organization requires a good amount of calculated risk, because not only does it cost to hire an employee, but even higher if you hire the wrong employee. This stresses the importance of line managers’ effectiveness in interviewing as they bring in their knowledge of the current and future needs of their teams. Building both an awareness of the possible pitfalls, as well as potential areas to be improved by line managers in interviewing can significantly improve the calculated risk by fine-tuning their skills in candidate selection.
