Last April 19-20, we had the chance to help Peri Asia’s ManCom members work as a team and become aware of which types of behaviors support cohesiveness and high team performance through a 2-day Management Team Building Workshop in The Lake Hotel in Tagaytay.
Here’s what Oliver and Dawnie has to say about their experiences:
Building a cohesive management team is important, and it is doable. It is important because managers create the culture of the organization by the way they work and deal with each other either face-to-face or otherwise. Employees follow the action more than formal communication.
If the management team is to lead change and bring about positive results, it must start with fixing relationships within the team. It is doable because we’ve seen it happen. We’ve helped problematic management teams address their issues, get their acts together and build a strong relationship that serves as a model for the entire organization.
Just as how we helped Peri Asia’s ManCom members last April 19-20 at The Lake Hotel in Tagaytay where they worked and learned together as a team.
Here are some of the activities they did during the 2-day Management Team Building Workshop:
- Ball Madness – to have the participants appreciate the concept of working together as a TEAM
- Coat of Arms – to know each other in a deeper sense and foster better understanding and trust
- Crab-Up – an activity design to improve trust among team members. The two activities lead to the establishment of the trust building norms where they agreed on behaviors that will promote trust
- Holey Tarp – for them to appreciate the importance of open communication and coordination in the team’s success that lead to establishing their norms for collaboration
- Frostbite – to describe and assign individual roles to ensure alignment and commitment to achieving the goal
